National Night Out

William (Bill) Simmons assumed the position of city manager in November 2008.
The city manager is appointed by the City Council and serves as the chief administrative officer of the city. The city manager is responsible for the implementation of decisions made by the City Council and for the overall operations of all city departments.
The manager works with the City Council in the development and formulation of policies, goals and objectives, and keeps council informed of community issues. The city manager’s office is also responsible for representing the city’s interests throughout the region and beyond through coordination of activities with various local, state and federal agencies.
