National Night Out

  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community relations

Mission

To provide publications, products and information that meets the needs of our residents, the city and the media through effective communication.

What We Do

  • Inform the community of the critical issues confronting the city, as well as services, programs and special events.
  • Ensure consistent quality publications, informational materials and programs.
  • Educate residents and business owners about the process of local government and how they can be involved.
  • Promote city council and organizational goals, initiatives, programs and services.
  • Serve as information source for city council, staff and residents.
  • Maintain an open line of communication, between city council, business owners and residents.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the media and other local public information/ media representatives.
  • Produce and administers citizens surveys, which are conducted every three years.
  • Administer original governmental cable programming on Channel 8.
  • Provide City Council meeting and study session coverage and Channel 8 bulletin board announcements.
  • Assist and advise elected city officials with cable franchise negotiations and cable regulatory issues.
