animal control

Animal control is part of the police department. They handle calls regarding animal concerns from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. seven days a week.

For non-emergency complaints or information requests, please call 303-450-8886.

For emergencies such as an animal running loose, cat in a trap, abuse, etc., please call 303-288-1535 or dial 911.

Animal control is responsible for picking up loose domestic animals, setting and servicing cat traps, investigating neglect/abuse of animals, barking dogs, and dog bites.

Animal control does not handle wildlife, but they may be able to provide limited advice. Wildlife is best handled by professional pest control companies or the Division of Wildlife.
