Six pieces of public art are installed at E. B. Rains, Jr. Memorial Park as part of the "Art on Parade" program. These pieces, which are on loan from the artists, are displayed in the park for one year and then replaced each year with a new selection. One piece, the "People's Choice", is purchased for permanent installation in one of the City's parks or facilites. Susan Geissler's life-sized bronze titled, "The Potato Main", is the recipient of the 2004 "People's Choice Award". This sculpture is currently located on the west side of City Hall.

The city of Northglenn is responsible for the maintenance of approximately 245 lane miles of arterial, collector and local streets. Primary snow removal is accomplished with six large plows. In the event of a major storm, we can supplement with two front-end loaders, two backhoes, and a few smaller pieces of equipment. In emergency situations such as a blizzard or a series of storms, city equipment and crews may be supplemented with contracted services. Snow removal priority is a volume-based plan. Prioritization is focused on clearing streets that benefit the greatest number of users first. Please click here for the snowplow map.
Based on that approach, the following procedures will occur under most circumstances:
- 1st Priority - Arterials
- All lanes including turn pockets will be plowed and treated with anti-icing materials as needed.
- 2nd Priority - Collectors, School Zones & Steep Hills
- One lane in each direction will be plowed and anti-icing materials applied as needed. Note: Collectors are streets that connect directly to an arterial.
- 3rd Priority - Local Collectors
- One lane in each direction will be plowed and anti-icing materials applied as needed. Note: Local collectors are lower volume streets that connect with major collectors or arterials.
- 4th Priority - Residential Streets
- Plowed if accumulation exceeds 8". A single pass will be plowed down the middle of the street. Anti-icing materials will be applied on hills, curves and intersections as needed.
Exceptions: Varying weather conditions may require plows to return to first and second priority streets prior to servicing third and fourth priority streets. The focus is to provide service to the greatest number of users first.
Emergency vehicle access will also be a high priority. Residents experiencing a medical emergency should call 911. City crews will work in conjunction with Police, Northglenn Ambulance and North Metro Fire & Rescue to provide emergency access.
