E. B. Rains Park Cleanup
Officers from the Northglenn Police Department volunteer their time and energy to clean up and beatify the E.B. Rains memorial area. The memorial is located on the East side of E.B. Rains Park, 11700 Community Center Drive. Sergeant Steve Garrow is pictured with Chief Russ Van Houten.
E.B. Rains is the only Northglenn Officer to lose his life while on duty in the city's history. Corporal Edgar Blain Rains Jr. lost his life on May 30th, 1984 while protecting the citizens of Northglenn.

Overview
The Northglenn Public Works Department provides a diverse range of important services to the community. Most of the services provided are very visible and would impact the residents should there be a disruption to this service. Other responsibilities are behind the scenes, vital to the operation of the city, but may not be noticeable to the public.
These services include:
- Handling resident questions, problems, and concerns.
- Maintaining city streets, drainage and storm sewer systems.
- Furnishing solid waste collection and recycling services.
- Maintaining the city's water and sewer infrastructure.
- Removing snow and ice, during the winter season, from the city's major arterial and residential streets.
- Maintaining the city's parks and trailways.
- Providing vehicle and equipment maintenance services for all other city functions.
- Maintaining all city facilities.
- Maintaining electrical and mechanical components of the utility system.
