Northglenn Police Department
11701 Community Center Drive
Northglenn, CO 80233

The Northglenn Police Department is one of the first cities to have an officer assigned in a school. In the early 1990s, officer Brad Nelson was our first officer assigned to Northglenn High School. It was such a successful program it expanded to the middle schools several years later. We currently have three SRO officers assigned to the schools.

The school resource officer’s role is to ensure a safe environment for the students and staff of the school. They assist in teaching several classes for the students. They develop trust and rapport with the students which increases communication allowing officers to prevent problems before they occur.

The officers are also involved in programs such as: Cops vs. Kids Basketball, Hooked on Fishing Not Drugs, Safe Street Halloween and the Christmas Crusade.

Officer Paul Skattum is assigned to the Northglenn High School.
