The Don Anema Skatepark is located at the southeast corner of E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park, 11801 Community Center Drive. The 15-20,000 square feet concrete project has both street and vertical elements.

Grand Opening

The new Don Anema Memorial Skatepark was officially dedicated with a grand opening Sept. 24. City officials, city staff, Parks and Rec Advisory Board members, Northglenn Youth Commission members and tons of skateboard enthusiasts were on hand for the event. The park is located on the southeast side of E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park. The 15,000-square-foot park has both vertical and street features.

Funding

The city of Northglenn received a $550,000 grant from Adams County Open Space to build a new skate park.

Over 30 letters of support were submitted along with the grant application, and they went a long way in communicating how strongly the people of Northglenn feel about the project. Both the Northglenn Youth Commission and Parks and Recreation Advisory Board have spearheaded the effort behind the skate park.
