Honor Veterans of All Conflicts

Engrave a Name at the Northglenn Veterans Memorial
In January 2001, the Northglenn American Legion Post 22, the Northglenn Arts & Humanities Foundation and the City of Northglenn partnered to pay tribute to the many men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice of defending our country.  They teamed up to form the Veterans Memorial Committee.  Their primary goal was to raise funds to commission and place a large-scale, three-dimensional bronze sculpture in the City to memorialize veterans of all conflicts.

The Northglenn Veterans Memorial was created by sculptor Hai Ying Wu of Everett, Washington.  The 23-foot bronze sculpture includes a United States flag with eleven figures emerging from its base.  The uniforms worn by the soldiers represent many wars in American history.  In addition, personalized bricks were purchased and placed at the base of the sculpture to recognize local community members and their contributions.   The resulting memorial has become a beloved Northglenn landmark and is host to the annual Veterans Day celebration.

The Veterans Memorial will stand as a centerpiece to the exciting changes coming to the Civic Center.  Remaining in its original location, the sculpture will flank Memorial Parkway, Northglenn’s newest street, leading to the new $54 million new Northglenn Recreation Center, Senior Center and Theatre.  The plaza surrounding the sculpture will be redeveloped to include military branch recognition, aesthetic improvements, and enhancements for visitors and ceremonies.

As part of the enhanced plaza, the City of Northglenn and the Northglenn Community Foundation are proud to once again offer an opportunity to add your own personalized brick. By purchasing one or more bricks to honor your veteran, you can help in our tribute to all veterans.

Memorial bricks purchased during the 2001 development, as well as the refurbished memorial bronze plaques surrounding the sculpture, have been preserved and will be reinstalled.

Purchase Your Brick Today!
Community members can purchase bricks to support veterans of all American wars and conflicts. A portion of the funds raised, beyond the cost to purchase the bricks, will be set aside for future maintenance of the memorial and the bricks.  Remaining funds will be donated to a local organization that serves veterans.
