No Street Sweeping This Fall

In late August, one of the city’s street sweepers was hit by a drunk driver. Thankfully no one was hurt, but the sweeper is totaled (see below).

Unfortunately, this leaves only one street sweeper left and to ensure it is available and operational (as required by EPA and other standards), the city will not conduct the usual fall street sweeping of every street.

Instead, it will occur on an as-needed priority basis until the second unit is received and put in service.
