Major City Wastewater Project Now Operating

The new Force Main A and Lift Station A are now operational.

The replacement of these two pieces of infrastructure was a major endeavor with construction beginning in March 2021. This was a necessary project and has increased the efficiency and lifespan of the city’s wastewater system.

Lift Station A is a four-pump system that collects wastewater and pushes it up through Force Main A, the city’s biggest sewer line, on its way to the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Lift Station A, located at East 105th Place and Irma Drive, was replaced with a newer, more efficient, and easier-to-maintain model. The old Force Main A was abandoned in place and a new pipe was installed from Lift Station A up to 124th Avenue and Claude Court.

The city would like to extend its thanks and gratitude to residents, commuters and businesses who had to manage road construction and temporary water shut-offs.
