Burns Appointed New Ward 1 Representative

On March 20, Megan Burns was selected by City Council and then sworn in as the new Ward 1 representative. Click here to see a video of the council meeting.

Ward 1 Council Member and Mayor Pro Tem Ashley Witkovich resigned from City Council effective Feb. 18, 2023. This created a vacancy on City Council in that ward. At its Feb. 27 meeting, council set up a schedule to fill this position:

March 1 through March 14: Applications accepted by the City Clerk’s Office
Wed., March 15: City Council interviews applicants
Mon., March 20: City Council appoints the new council member

The term for this position will expire after the Nov. 7, 2023 general election.
