Spring is upon us, which means taking care of some much-needed yard work after the long winter.
However, you don’t need to fill up your precious trash cart space with old grass, leaves and branches. Northglenn residents can bring them to the city’s Yard Waste Mulching Center.
Starting April 1 and going through November, the facility is open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday. It’s located at the south end of the Maintenance & Operations Facility, 12301 Claude Court. Just go right through the gate as you enter the parking lot.
Only Northglenn residents can drop off debris. Please bring proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or utility bill with a photo ID. The city will take most yard waste except for dirt, sod or gravel.
As a bonus – the yard waste is churned into mulch that is free and available to the entire community. That includes residents, non-residents and businesses. Please bring shovels, as the city does not provide any tools. However, staff can help load the mulch into trailers and pickups if you sign a liability waiver.
