Citizen's Police Academy

The Citizen's Police Academy provides residents of Northglenn the opportunity to learn more about crime in their community and the activities of the Police Department.

Classes
Instruction is given by lecture, hands-on experience, and demonstrations. Most of the classes are held in the training room at the Police Department for three hours on Wednesday nights. The programs are approximately 11 weeks long.

Some of the topics of the classes may include:

  • Traffic Accident Investigations
  • Law Enforcement Careers
  • Tour Police Training Facility/Academy
  • Police Training
  • Investigations
  • Officer survival
  • ADCOM/police dispatch
  • Crime Scene Investigation
  • Critical Incidents

Registration
You must be 18 years of age or older and a Northglenn resident or work in Northglenn to participate. However, consideration may be given to outside resident applications if class size permits.

The academies are on a first-come, first-served basis, with limited space available.
